Scientists from countries associated with ESRF have free access to the experimental facilities. Beamtime is allocated on the basis of scientific merit, following the recommendations of the Review Committees and that the experiment proposed meets technical feasibility and safety requirements. Please do not hesitate to contact the ID11 beamline staff for detailed technical information and to discuss potential projects.

A successful beamtime application will probably exploit the unique facilities available:

  • High photon flux
  • High energy X-rays
  • Micro- or nano focused X-ray beams
  • High resolution X-ray diffraction
  • Facilities for bulky samples or sample environment
